Every year, Ramadan extends an invitation to humanity to experience a life of piety. Muslims worldwide respond to this call, beautifully demonstrating the purpose of life in every mosque and community.

During Ramadan, Muslims engage in acts of worship, including prayer, fasting, charity, sharing, and caring. The nights are blessed with extra prayers, while the days are marked by fasting, a testament to their devotion and self-discipline.

A blessed night in Ramadan marked the beginning of the Quran’s revelation to Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). This momentous event occurred on one of the last odd nights of Ramadan.

The final 10 nights of Ramadan are considered the most sacred and blessed nights of the entire month. Muslims around the world strive to make the most of these nights, dedicating themselves to intense prayer and worship. Many spend the entire night in prayer, either in the masjid or at home, seeking to catch the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr).

During these blessed nights, Allah, the Almighty, showers on His servants with tranquility, serenity, and forgiveness. Those who worship sincerely are granted pardon for their sins, and their hearts are filled with peace and devotion.

In Surah Al-Fajr (Dawn), Allah promises the righteous: “O tranquil soul! Return to your Lord, well pleased and well pleasing. Join My servants and enter My Paradise.” (Quran 89:27-30)

This is the ultimate reward that Muslims strive for – the acceptance of their worship and the pleasure of their Creator. The tranquility of the soul, achieved through devotion and selflessness, is the greatest success.

Ramadan serves as a training camp, a workshop, and a motivation to transition from selfishness to selflessness, as taught by the Holy Quran. Through this journey, Muslims earn the noble title of      “Khair Ummat” –  the best of communities.

May this Ramadan be a transformative experience, guiding us toward a life of piety, selflessness, and devotion to Allah. Ameen
