Echoes of my heart

My tears are not the only ones that fall—
Even the sky weeps with me, echoing my call.
The cold settles deep within my bones,
Yet all I fear is harm reaching my loved ones.

My heart breaks into a thousand fragile pieces,
Still it beats on—its courage never ceases.
We share a loaf of bread, damp and cold,
While screams inside my chest grow loud and bold.

O world, you are as cold as this endless night.
Why don’t you rise? Why don’t you fight?
Fight for me, for truth, for what is right,
Even when hope slips far from sight.

I leave these words for the ones who hear:
Remember—your Lord and mine is always near.
