We think that Deen is hard to practice, difficult acts of worship are necessary to be a good Muslim which is simply not true. The teachings of Prophet Muhammad (saw) taught us to do small and easy good deeds in our daily life with determination and perseverance. Our Deen teaches us to follow a balanced lifestyle, take care of our health, self esteem, self respect and even our beauty. We think all these concepts are the latest and that’s not true. Mujeba (ra) a woman from Tribe Bahela said, “once my father visited Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and learned the basics of Deen from him and came back. After a year he visited again and felt that Prophet (ﷺ) didn’t recognize him, he said Ya Rasool Allah you didn’t remember me, Prophet (ﷺ) said yes, please introduce me Who you are, I don’t remember you. He said I came last year to learn Deen from you. Prophet then (ﷺ) remembering him said, O what happened to you, you were a handsome, healthy and beautiful man. He said after returning from here I kept fasting for the whole year, only eating at night. Prophet (ﷺ) replied you put unnecessary burden on yourself, just fast once in a year, (Ramadan) and fast one more day in a month. He said I am capable of fasting more please grant me permission to fast more than that, Prophet (ﷺ) said ok then two days every month, he asked for more then he said fast three days every month and in four sacred months every year, and sometime leave, do the same every year, [The Four Sacred Months: are Rajab, Zil-Qadah, Dhul-Hijjah, and Muharram].
Prophet (ﷺ) made a gesture with three fingers”. Meaning don’t put yourself in unnecessary hardships.
