Our History
It was July 9th 1978, when six visionary sisters started this organization.
Alhamdulillah, today, we have more than 1200 members all over Canada.
ICNA SISTERS CANADA a wing of ICNA Canada, a not for profit organization and a registered charity. All donations we receive are tax deductible.
Election are conducted every two year for President ICNA Sisters Canada and Sisters board.
Sisters’ general assembly is the final decision making body in all matters.
We have chapters, regions and cities where our chapter and regional and city teams carries all the activities under different departments.
Our national team comprises of sister’s president and a team of elected and nominated board members.
Each chapter and region has it’s own elected president and shura. The department in-charges are constantly in touch with national dept. incharge.
The departments have a national incharge and a team of sisters nominated from each chapter/region. All decisions are made by discussion and deliberation between team members.
Outreach
Aims to provide the true Islamic perspective through authentic literature as well as by providing opportunities to learn directly from the Muslims.
Learning & Development
Through tazkeer, naseeha, lectures, workshops and self assessment tools. Daily planner is the newest project of this department.
Social Services
Encourages women, to work individually and collectively, for the betterment of fellow citizens, regardless of their race, age ethnicity and religion.
Civic Engagement
Initiates, participates and collaborates with other organizations in developing the projects aimed at bringing positive change in the society.
Research & Publication
Under the department of Research and Publications, our intention is to create compelling learning material for ICNA in both print and audio/visual format.
Writers Forum
The purpose of Writers Forum is to encourage our sisters to write and enhance their writing Skills.
A relaxing and informative reading corner where the reader will find the latest event updates, articles about Qura’n and Hadeeth and much more…
Media
Helps develop and organize media training and awareness.
Update all events’ reporting on social media accounts.
Manage Websites, YouTube and other social media accounts
Finances
Keeps record of all donations and expenses properly for internal and external audit.
Provides financial resources as per requested according to the approved budget.
Printing & Distribution
Printing of dawah brochures, leaflets, flyers, one minute cards and make them accessible to all
Book Services
Make books, Quran and other reading material accessible to all members and volunteers
